Real wages in Ukraine up 9.5% in July

The real wage of a full-time employee at enterprises, institutions, and organizations in July this year increased by 2.4% against June, Ukraine's State Statistics Service reports.

"Compared with June, the average nominal wage increased by 1.7%, and over the past 12 months (against July 2018) – by 19.6%.

The real wage index in July 2019 against June 2019 amounted to 102.4%, and compared to July 2018 it was 109.5%," the report says.

The agency noted that the average nominal wage in July amounted to UAH 10,971 (US$434.82).

As UNIAN reported earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman predicted an increase in the average wage to $540 as early as next year.
