Wage arrears across Ukraine in July 2019 shrank by 4.1% to UAH 2.74 billion (US$108.9 million) as of August 1, 2019, the State Statistics Service reports.
"As of August 1, 2019, the total amount of wage arrears amounted to 2.739 billion hryvnias, or 95.9% compared to July 1, 2019. The debt to employees of economically active enterprises as of August 1, 2019, stood at UAH 1.592 billion ($63.3 million), or 94% compared to July 1," reads the report.
As UNIAN reported, from January 1, 2019, the minimum wage in Ukraine increased to UAH 4,173 ($165.92 at the current rate) from UAH 3,723 ($148.03).

The average nominal wage of a full-time employee in June 2019 increased by 18% year-on-year to UAH 10,783 ($428).
The National Bank expects a slowdown in wage growth in Ukraine, forecasting an increase in nominal wages by 16% in 2019 and by 10% in 2020, respectively, or by 7% and 5% in real terms.
