NBU's foreign currency purchases in interbank market down by 75%

Last week, the regulator sold no foreign currency, just like the week before.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) last week, from August 27 to August 30, reduced foreign currency purchases in the interbank foreign exchange market by 75%, from $79.5 million to $20 million, against the previous week.

Last week, the regulator, sold no foreign currency, just like a week before, says a report published on the NBU website.

Since year-start, foreign currency purchases by the National Bank have exceeded sales by $2.978 billion, or by 13 times.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the net purchase of foreign currency by the National Bank of Ukraine in the interbank foreign exchange market since the beginning of the year and as of the second half of August amounted to almost $3 billion and has already doubled the figure for the entire year of 2018.
