NBU provides UAH 1 bln to Ukrainian banks for refinancing

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Tuesday provided UAH 1 billion in refinancing funds and sold certificates of deposit worth a total of UAH 7.848 billion, according to the Web site of the regulator.

According to the NBU, the credit was provided to one bank for one day at 33% per annum.

The central bank also sold certificates of deposit worth a total of UAH 6.586 billion to 21 banks for one day at 20% per annum, ones worth UAH 823 million to eight banks for seven days at 26% per annum, ones worth UAH 430 million to five banks for 14 days at 26% per annum, and ones worth UAH 9 million to two banks for 28 days at 27% per annum.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on April 9 the NBU did not provide refinancing to banks for the first time since the beginning of 2015. At the same time, the regulator sold certificates of deposit worth a total of UAH 10.455 billion.

As reported earlier, the debt of banks to the NBU had increased by UAH 1 billion over one month.
