Hryvnia weakens by 0.8 % to dollar in Aug – NBU

The national currency strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 8.9 % in January-August 2019.

Ukraine's national currency, the hryvnia, in August 2019 weakened by 0.8% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 25.23 at the official rate of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

The hryvnia also weakened by 0.1% against the euro, to UAH 27.94, the regulator said on its website on September 3.

In January-August 2019, the hryvnia strengthened by 8.9% against the U.S. dollar and by 11.9% against the euro.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's national currency in July 2019 strengthened by 4.4% against the U.S. dollar to UAH 25.02, and by 6.3% against the euro, to UAH 27.90.

The national budget of Ukraine for 2019 is based on the forecast rate set at UAH 29.4 to the dollar by the end
