SE Spetstechnoexport, which is part of Ukroboronprom State Corporation, for the first seven months of 2019 entered into new foreign economic contracts worth $337 million, which is a record high over the past 10 years.

This was announced by Spetstechnoexport CEO Vladyslav Belbas in an interview with Defense Express.

"As for the signing of new contracts, we have already exceeded last year's figures. As of today (seven months of 2019), we have already signed new contracts worth a total of $337 million. This is a new record high for the company over the past 10 years. Now the main thing is to make sure less obstacles are created within the country in the process of their implementation," said Vladyslav Belbas.

Last year, Spetstechnoexport also showed good dynamics in concluding new defense contracts with foreign partners. As indicated in the 2018 Performance Report, the company entered into new contracts worth $282.5 million, while in 2017 this figure stood at $114.4 million.

The total volume of arms exports in recent years is estimated at $600-700 million. In the pre-war period, Ukraine on average earned $1 billion annually on weapons sales.

Among the main partner countries of Spetstechnoexport in terms of cooperation, Vladyslav Balbes named India, where the company simultaneously works out more than 90 defense projects, and Turkey, where work continues, including on joint production of weapons.

As reported earlier, in June 2019, Ukraine completed qualification tests of the first Ukrainian-Turkish remote weapon station SERDAR, created by order of third countries. SERDAR is a joint development of Turkey's Aselsan and the enterprises of Ukroboronprom State Corporation, Luch and Spetstechnoexport.
