"We have been instructed to draft a restructuring plan for Ukrzaliznytsia. For our part, we are fully involved in this process... We expect this process will take from one to three or four years depending on which model of restructuring is chosen by the ministry and the government," he said at a press conference of the European Business Association (EBA) on September 5.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on September 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a joint meeting with lawmakers and law enforcement agencies ordered the Cabinet of Ministers to draft by the end of 2019 a restructuring plan for Ukrzaliznytsia to increase its transparency and efficiency.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii were appointed responsible for drafting the plan.

On September 3, Kravtsov said the plan, which provides for the company's split into three operators: infrastructure, freight and passenger ones, as well as a separate production unit, would be completed on time, by the end of 2019.
