Consumers have already purchased 4.5 million cubic meters of gas at a summer price for the forthcoming heating season.
National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine says over 7,000 households have already used its new service, titled "Gas Reserve," offering non-industrial customers to buy up gas at a low summer price to use it during the heating season.

"Some 7,320 Ukrainian families have used the new Gas Reserve service since the Naftogaz group launch it on August 23 as part of the Your Energy Independence campaign. Gas volume ordered by consumers on the Gas Reserve terms totals almost 4.5 million cubic meters," the company's press service said on September 4.
As reported, 18 regional gas sales companies, accounting for over 70% of their number, have already joined the program. Moreover, negotiations are under way with gas suppliers from the city of Kyiv, as well as Odesa, Kherson, Poltava, and Donetsk regions.
"Naftogaz hopes its customers will take advantage of the Gas Reserve program," the company added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 21, Naftogaz of Ukraine came up with a new service, titled "Gas Reserve," offering non-industrial customers to buy up gas in September at a low summer price to use it later, during the heating season.
Household consumers will be able to purchase up to 25,000 cubic meters of gas at a price of UAH 4,874.42 (US$193) per 1,000 cubic meters. The offer is valid until September 25.
Naftogaz earlier said it would work on introducing the service for district-level central heating providers.
