It is noted passengers whose flights are scheduled for the afternoon of September 6 need to check the flight status on the air carrier's website.

All flights starting on September 7 are canceled. Passengers who have tickets for flights after this data, regardless of departure airport, need to buy new tickets from another carrier.

"The financial situation of the company does not allow for prompt compensation. The necessary procedures will be carried out by the relevant authorities," the company added.

The airline offers passengers to file a claim with the legal authorities on bankruptcy proceedings, as well as when paying for tickets through the website, use the chargeback payment challenge procedure.

When buying tickets through agencies, passengers are advised to contact them to study the possibility of compensation or booking other flights.

Aigle Azur added other airlines might offer preferential rates for the purchase of new tickets for passengers who have arrived at their destination by Aigle Azur's flight but whose return flight had been canceled.

Negotiations on a possible company's buyer are under way.

Aigle Azur is France's second largest airline. It was founded in 1946. Now its fleet has 11 aircraft. Aigle Azur served 1.88 million passengers in 2018, with a EUR 300 million turnover. In summer 2019, the French airline was in a difficult position and was placed under external financial control.

On April 18, Aigle Azur launched the Kyiv-Paris flights from Boryspil International Airport to Orly Airport. The flights were performed three times a week.

Now flights between Kyiv and Paris are operated by three airlines. Air France and Ukraine's largest air carrier, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) perform flights twice a day. Ukrainian-based SkyUp Airlines has been operating flights to Paris three times a week since June 11. At the same time, Air France is expected to stop flying to Ukraine in the 2019/2020 winter navigation season.
