Ukraine's central bank boosts foreign currency purchases by almost six times on Sept 2-6

The NBU did not sell any foreign currency over the period under review.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on September 2-6, 2019, boosted purchases of foreign currency on the interbank forex market by six times, or by US$114.5 million from the previous week, August 26-30.

Over the period under review, the regulator did not sell the currency, like the previous four weeks, according to the report by the NBU.

Since year-start, the central bank's purchases of foreign currency have exceeded sales by 13.5 times, or by $3.093 billion, the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank in August 2019 bought $300 million on the interbank forex market to replenish the country's international reserves.
