The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has been provided with extensive powers, among them setting state investment policy, an adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Daniel Lubkivsky, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
"The government has approved a resolution to amend the Regulation on Ministry of Economic Development and Trade", Lubkivsky said.
He noted that the changes provide for granting extensive powers to the Ministry, including on the issue of "state investment policy."
"[The powers also include] the management of national projects, maintenance of the state register of projects, entering data into this register, the adoption of national projects, public policy for the establishment and operation of industrial parks, and state policy in the area of tourism and resorts, apart from state supervision and control in the area of tourism and resorts," Lubkivsky said.
