"We wish to spend taxpayers' every kopiyka as efficiently as possible. The government does not intend to raise taxes to increase revenue. This is the wrong way. Taxes need to be gradually reduced. But it should be made in equal amount for everyone, as it is wrong when taxes are high, while an insignificant part of the businesses pays them. This is unfair. We definitely have to drop such practice," he said before introducing the draft national budget for 2020 on September 15.

According to the official, the government aims to collect smaller amounts of taxes, but spend them more efficiently.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers plans to launch a full-fledged tax reform in the spring of 2020.

Ukraine's government decided to split the State Fiscal Service into two agencies – the tax service and the customs. In August 2019, the government tasked the State Tax Service to administer taxes instead of the State Fiscal Service, having thus introduced the independent tax authority. Work to launch the Customs Service is still under way.
