All members of PrivatBank's new supervisory board pass NBU's pre-qualifying stage

The decision has not been formalized yet, but, according to preliminary evaluation, they will be nominated for approval.

First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kateryna Rozhkova says that all the members of PrivatBank's new supervisory board have passed the NBU's pre-qualifying stage.

"The decision of our qualification commission, which is usually the basis for the committee's decision, has not yet been formalized. But, according to preliminary evaluation, all members of PrivatBank's Supervisory Board have passed tests and interviews very well and will be nominated for approval," she told journalists on September 17, adding that the NBU had interviewed all members of Ukrainian banks' supervisory boards last week.

UNIAN memo. Dnipro-based PrivatBank has been operating in Ukraine since 1992. It is Ukraine's No. 1 bank in terms of assets. The bank has been owned by the state since December 2016.

The bank's updated Supervisory Board headed by former international advisor to the U.S. Treasury's Office of Technical Assistance and Expert Advisor to the IMF Sharon Easky, includes Alternate Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Artem Shevalev; member of Ukrtransgaz's board Serhiy Oleksiyenko; Nadir Shaikh, formerly Cluster CEO for Citi operations (Egypt) and Member of Supervisory Board at Citi Bank (Ukraine); Eran Klein, who in the past held senior executive positions at Commerzbank (UK), Citibank (UK), WestLB (Japan) and Deutsche Bank (Japan), as well as Sebastian Prinz Von Schoenaich-Carolath, Olпa Tomash, Roman Sulzhik, and ex-lawyer for state-run Ukreximbank Julia Metzger.

Shevalev and Oleksiyenko are representatives of Ukraine's government.

Sebastian Prinz von Schoenaich-Carolath has more than 30 years of experience in commercial banks including about 20 years on senior positions in Germany, Austria, and Poland. He obtained his expertise at Deutsche Bank, headed regional co-operative banks in Germany and Poland.

Olga Tomash has extensive experience in Ukrainian and international banks, as well as in international financial organizations. She has a deep understanding of the Ukrainian market, as well as knowledge of the best international practices with an emphasis on auditing, operational efficiency, risk management and IT.

Roman Sulzhik has significant experience in the financial sector in Ukraine, the CIS and the United States, as well as a deep understanding of IT technologies. His experience includes expertise in finance and information technology: he is a co-founder of a start-up focused on implementing Blockchain advanced technologies in the real sector.
