The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on September 9-13, 2019, almost doubled purchases of foreign currency on the interbank forex market compared to the previous week, having bought US$198 million.

Over the period under review, the regulator did not sell the currency, like the previous five weeks, according to the report by the NBU.
Since the beginning of the year, the central bank's purchases of foreign currency have exceeded sales by 14 times, or by US$3.291 billion, the report said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank in August 2019 bought US$300 million on the interbank forex market to replenish the country's international reserves.
