Ukraine sees agriculture output grow by 4.4% in Jan-Aug

Agricultural enterprises alone increased production by 11.8%.

Agricultural output in Ukraine in January-August 2019 rose by 4.4% year-over-year (y-o-y).

In particular, agricultural enterprises increased production by 11.8% over the period under review, while private farmers saw their output shrink by 2.3%, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service.

Production of crops in the eight months of 2019 rose by 6% y-o-y. Noteworthy, private farmers reduced their crops output by 2.1%, while agri-businesses' production grew by 14.7%.

In particular, animal farming increased by 1.7% over the period under review. Agricultural enterprises boosted livestock production by 6.6%, while private farms saw a 2.7% decline.

The report does not include information from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and certain areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's agricultural production grew by 7.8% in 2018 against 2017. In particular, agricultural enterprises boosted production by 12.1%, while private farmers increased their output by 2.2%.
