Ukraine boosts grain exports by 49% since July 1

The country's agribusinesses in MY 2018-2019 exported 49.7 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence.

Ukrainian farmers exported 12.4 million tonnes of grains from July 1 (when the 2019-2020 (July 2019 – June 2020) marketing year (MY) began) to September 24, which was 49% more than by the same date last year, the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has said.

In particular, Ukraine exported over 7.7 million tonnes of wheat, almost 2.8 million tonnes of barley, and 1.9 million tonnes of maize.

In addition, during the reporting period, farmers delivered abroad 72,500 tonnes of wheat flour, which is 63% more than for the same period last year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian farmers reduced grain exports by 0.4% in 2018, to 41.7 million tonnes.
