A respective bill is being developed by government officials jointly with parliamentarians.
Ukraine's Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii has announced plans to split the country's railway giant, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia, into three separate companies.
"The thing is that in fact, there cannot be one head of Ukrzaliznytsia a priori, because we're planning to create three separate companies out of Ukrzaliznytsia," he told Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty's Ukrainian service.

According to the minister, the corresponding bill is being developed jointly with parliamentarians.
"One operator will be responsible for access to infrastructure. That is, for the entire network, for electrification, it will be engaged in capital investment in maintenance, operation, development of the network. The second operator will handle passenger transportation, which is unprofitable, problematic. And a KPI [Key Performance Indicator] there will be to minimize these losses to zero. And the third is profitable, which will generate revenue for the state. This is freight transportation," he explained.
"In any case, even the incumbent CEO [of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov] will still have to decide where he wants to go, because these will be three different positions," the minister said.
