NBU buys over US$348 mln on Sept 23-27

Over the period under review, the regulator did not sell the currency, just as in the previous seven weeks.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on September 23-27, 2019, bought US$348.2 million in the interbank forex market, which was 29.2% up from the previous week, September 16-20.

Over the period under review, the regulator did not sell the currency, like the previous seven weeks, according to the report by the NBU.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank's purchases of foreign currency have exceeded sales by almost 17 times, or by $3.908 billion, the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank in August 2019 bought $300 million on the interbank forex market to replenish the country's international reserves.
