Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods, services 10% up in Jan-Aug

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 15.6%.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-August 2019 was estimated at US$7.188 billion, which was 10%, or $686 million, up from the deficit reported year-over-year (y-o-y).

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 15.6%, to $8.291 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services rose by 1.6 times, to $1.103 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, citing the National Bank of Ukraine, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 totaled $11.492 billion, which was 32.9% up from the deficit posted in 2017.

The State Statistics Service, in turn, estimated the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 at $5.826 billion, which was 2.3 times up against the deficit recorded in 2017.
