Ukraine's Cabinet postpones fines for owners of non-cleared cars until 2020

Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk says the Cabinet of Ministers has postponed until January 1, 2020, the introduction of fines for owners of cars with foreign registration plates who violated the rules of customs clearance.

"We must solve the problem with this category of the population. We are considering this issue now. We have decided to order the police not to use penalties until we find an adequate solution to get out of this situation so as not to cause another conflicts," he told a briefing after a government meeting on October 2.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on September 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law to postpone for three months the introduction of fines for violating the procedure for importing vehicles with foreign registration plates into the customs territory of Ukraine.
