Ukraine sees 7% drop in sales of new commercial vehicles in Jan-Sept

Some 1,054 new commercial vehicles were sold in September 2019 alone.

Sales of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine in January-September 2019 dropped by 7% year-over-year (y-o-y), to 8,700 vehicles.

Some 1,054 new commercial vehicles were sold in September 2019 alone. At the same time, demand for trucks and special purpose vehicles in September grew by almost 8% y-o-y, the Ukrautoprom association's press service said.

Renault with 231 vehicles sold in September alone ranked first, having demonstrated a 23% increase y-o-y.

Fiat was second with 122 vehicles sold in the past month despite an 8% decline in sales.

MAZ cars produced at Belarusian-based Minsk Automobile Plant ranked third (climbed from the sixth position) with 91 cars sold. Its sales in September grew by 40% y-o-y.

Mercedes-Benz took the fourth place in the ranking with 79 vehicles sold, having demonstrated a 6% drop in sales against September 2018.

The MAN brand whose sales in the ninth month of 2019 totaled 76 vehicles (2.4 times up y-o-y) joined the top five leaders in terms of sales of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the country's sales of new commercial vehicles in 2018 grew by 20% from 2017, to 51,500 units, according to Ukrautoprom.
