Trade on Ukraine's interbank forex market on Monday, October 7, closed at UAH 24.72/24.76 per U.S. dollar, which was seven kopiykas higher than the closing price from the previous day.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Monday evening weakened the official hryvnia exchange rate by 25 kopiykas, bringing the national currency to UAH 24.86 to the dollar.

The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for October 8:
US$100 costs UAH 2,486.7568 (UAH 2,461.1821 as of October 7);
EUR 100 costs UAH 2,733.6918 (UAH 2,702.1318 as of October 7);
As UNIAN reported earlier, trade on Ukraine's interbank forex market on Monday, October 7, closed at UAH 24.72/24.76 per U.S. dollar, which was seven kopiykas higher than the closing price from the previous day.
Hryvnia quotations to the euro were at UAH 27.18/27.22, which was also 14 kopiykas higher than the closing rate on the previous day.
The Ukrainian hryvnia, after one-day strengthening at the interbank currency market on Thursday, October 3, resumed falling on Friday by the close of trade by 21 kopiykas, to UAH 24.78/24.83 per U.S. dollar.
Last week, the regulator resumed interventions on the interbank forex market to sell foreign currency after an almost two-month break and sold US$200 million to prop up the hryvnia. The NBU says that excess forex fluctuations in early October were caused by a decrease in the supply of currency with a simultaneous increase in demand under the influence of psychological factors.
Experts attribute the recent weakening of the hryvnia to a decline in foreign currency injections by non-residents into domestic government bonds, but yet they see no reason for a drastic weakening of the hryvnia since foreign currency earnings from grain exports remain high.
