Chairman of the State Tax Service (STS) of Ukraine Serhiy Verlanov says the agency over the next six months plans to conduct all tests to make the introduction of new rules for cash register operations as comfortable as possible.

In turn, business representatives express their willingness to provide specific recommendations and suggestions for the introduction of cash registers as part of an ongoing dialogue with the STS.

"All this is a good sign for protecting the rights of consumers and bona fide business representatives, which will enable de-shadowing entire sectors of the economy. In turn, this will create the prerequisites for accelerating economic growth since each of us wants to live in a successful country. We can only make it like that all together," he said at a meeting with representatives of businesses and experts on October 7.

Verlanov assured the introduction of cash registers would not create additional pressure on businesses.

"According to bills Nos. 1053-1 and 1073 passed by the Ukrainian parliament, fiscalization of receipts, which now takes place in ordinary cash registers, will be performed on the STS fiscal server for software cash registers after the legislative changes come into force," he said.

Verlanov noted the draft laws do not change the simplified taxation system, because single tax payers that belong to group No. 1, whose annual income does not exceed UAH 300,000 (US$12,068), do not fall under their action.

The official added the state would not oblige those who must use payment transaction registrars under the said laws to buy classic cash registers.

According to Verlanov, companies will be able to freely use the latest software cash registers, which will be provided by the State Tax Service, or develop their own ones. The law also makes it possible to use solutions from other developers.
