Prosecutor General Riaboshapka's salary 4.7 times up from that of President Zelensky – media

Lawmakers of the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation earlier received their first full salaries.

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Riaboshapka's salary in September 2019 stood at UAH 131,728 (US$5,333), which was 4.7 times up from that of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Riaboshapka's salary has amounted to UAH 37,000 [US$1,498] over the month, while his long-service allowances accounted from 10% to 50% of the salary," the Ukrainian-registered Apostrophe online media outlet reported on October 10.

In addition, the prosecutor general received allowances for the performance of particularly important work, for the honorary title "merited," the work under conditions of regime restrictions, as well as a bonus.

"Noteworthy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earned 4.7 times less than Riaboshapka in September. The salary of the head of state was UAH 28,000 [US$1,134], of which UAH 5,500 [US$223] was spent to pay taxes," the publication wrote.

Lawmakers of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, of the ninth convocation earlier received their first full salaries. First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk's salary was the highest one (UAH 59,300/US$2,401), while that of MP from the Servant of the People Party Anna Kovalenko was the lowest one.
