The first bill proposes that relevant amendments are made in the Tax Code, while the second one introduces changes in the Budget Code.

The documents are not available on the Verkhovna Rada's website for the time being.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the war tax in Ukraine was introduced on August 3, 2014. A war tax rate is set at 1.5% of individual incomes subject to taxation.

War tax payers are residents who receive income both in Ukraine and abroad, non-residents with revenue in Ukraine, and tax agents.

For residents, it is their total monthly (annual) taxable income; revenue from the source in Ukraine, which is finally assessed upon its accrual; and foreign incomes received from sources outside Ukraine that are taxed.

For non-residents, it is their total monthly (annual) taxable income from the source in Ukraine and revenue from the source in Ukraine, which is assessed upon its accrual.

Politicians and economists have held discussions about the war tax cancellation for more than a year. However, head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's presidential administration Andriy Bohdan earlier said on a Ukrainian TV channel that it might be cancelled only under favorable economic conditions.
