The constant wage arrears to miners is a consequence of the difficult financial situation of state mines.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft amendment to the state budget for 2019, which provides for the allocation of UAH 1 billion (US$40.4 million) for the payment of wages to miners.

Such a decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on October 12, according to the Government portal.
The amendments approved by the government will be immediately submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, with a request to consider and back them as soon as possible.

As reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the state budget for 2019 planned to allocate UAH 2.3 billion (US$93.1 million) for upgrading state mines.
