Every third employee in Ukraine has not been formally hired.
Almost half of the Ukrainian employees receive their salaries "in an envelope" (untaxed), according to a survey conducted by Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
In 2018, some 40% of Ukrainian businesses' revenue was out of sight of the fiscal authorities, while every third employee in Ukrainian companies has been hired informally, a morning TV show "Snidanok z 1+1" said, citing the report.
Experts said 47% of Ukraine's economy remained in the shadow, the survey said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian lawmakers tabled a bill in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, to exempt Ukrainian youths from taxes. They propose that persons under 27 be freed from payroll taxation. Legislators propose that the employers pay no taxes for young employees either.
