Dollar purchases by Ukraine's central bank still exceed sales in 2019

Last week the NBU bought US$31 million on the interbank market.

Purchases of U.S. dollars by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) have exceeded currency sales by almost US$3.885 billion, or nine times, since the beginning of the year.

The NBU said that last week, from October 15 to October 18, it bought US$31 million on the interbank forex market, and the similar amount, US$31 million, was sold there.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the NBU in September 2019 replenished the country's international reserves having bought US$300 million on the interbank forex market.

The Central Bank set the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar for October 21 at UAH 25.04.
