Decline of industrial output in Ukraine slows to 1.1% in Sept

Ukraine saw a slowdown in its industrial production to 1.1% in September 2019 year-over-year (y-o-y) without calendar adjustment, after a 1.7% decrease in August 2019 y-o-y.

Adjusted to the effect of calendar days, the industrial output in September dropped by 1.3% y-o-y, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service website.

However, industrial production grew by 1.7% in September 2019 from August 2019 without calendar adjustment, but fell by 0.1% with such adjustment.

The steepest decline in annual terms was recorded in the manufacture of electrical equipment (by 17.5%), production of computers, electronic and optical equipment (by 13.2%), and textile industry (by 10.3%).

The highest increase in industrial output in September 2019 y-o-y was recorded in the manufacture of furniture and other commodities (by 10.9%), the production of other machinery and equipment (by 6.5%), and the pharmaceuticals industry (by 3.5%).

The report does not include information from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and certain areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a decline in Ukraine's industrial production in August 2019 accelerated to 1.7% y-o-y after a 0.2% decrease in July 2019 y-o-y.

In 2018, Ukraine saw a 1.1% growth in industrial production after a 0.1% decline in 2017.
