The Ukrainian Energy and Environmental Protection Ministry says the Cabinet has approved a draft resolution to simplify the procedure for connecting households and businesses to the power grids.

"The relevant draft resolution on strengthening control over compliance with legislation on connection to the electric power networks was adopted at a government meeting. The move makes it possible to simplify and accelerate the connection of households and businesses to the power grids," the ministry said on October 25.

The document assumes that the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate of Ukraine is determined as an agency, which, using the one stop shop principle, will consider and analyze disputes concerning customers' connection to the power grids.

Moreover, relevant claims are proposed to be filed in electronic form as an option.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Cabinet of Ministers and the head of the National Energy and Utilities Regulation Commission (NEURC) to cut by the end of 2019 the fee for connecting households and businesses to electric and gas networks owned by private monopolists.
