Ukraine sees over US$821 mln budget deficit in Jan-Sept

The country's consolidated budget over the period under review saw a US$347.3 million surplus.

The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in January-September 2019 was estimated at UAH 20.675 billion, or US$821.4 million, which was three times up from the figure reported year-over-year (y-o-y).

The surplus of the country's consolidated budget over the period under review was UAH 8.741 billion (US$347.3 million), which was 41.2% down y-o-y, according to Ukraine's Treasury Service.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the national budget in January-September 2019 received UAH 739.680 billion (US$29.4 billion) in revenue, which was 4.8% down from the target figure, but 9.6% up y-o-y.

The national budget of Ukraine for 2019 provides for revenues at UAH 1.026 trillion (US$40.8 billion) and expenditures at UAH 1.112 trillion (US$44.2 billion), with the deficit cap of UAH 89.989 billion (US$3.6 billion).

In October, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, adopted a set of amendments to the national budget for 2019, with a UAH 20.4 billion (US$810.5 million) reduction in the national budget revenue, which is balanced by a UAH 21.6 billion (US$858.2 million) decrease in public debt servicing.
