Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says that Ukraine is on the verge of an economic breakthrough.

"I am sure that we are now on the verge of an economic breakthrough. This is evidenced by key indicators. In the second quarter, we had 4.6% of real GDP growth. International organizations have substantially improved their forecasts for Ukraine's economic growth next year. Ukraine climbed seven positions up in the Doing Business ranking. International agencies upgraded our credit rating and changed our forecast to stable and positive," Zelensky said at the RE:THINK. Invest in Ukraine Forum in Mariupol on October 29.

"We have significantly improved our position in protecting minority shareholders and obtaining construction permits. And the National Bank of Ukraine lowered its key policy rate by 1 pp at once [to 15.5% per annum] – this is an important signal that indicates a slowdown in inflation and will help reduce the cost of borrowings," he said.

Zelensky is convinced that Ukraine is becoming a stable and predictable market with significant opportunities for business expansion.

"All this is amplified by a favorable climate, an advantageous geographical location, inexhaustible agricultural and industrial potential, and our main resource – incredibly hardworking and talented people. As you know, Ukrainians are in the top 50 countries by the Human Capital Index," he added.
