Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods, services 5% up in Jan-Sep

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review rose by 9%.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-September 2019 was estimated at US$8.504 billion, which was 5% up from the deficit reported year-over-year (y-o-y).

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 9%, to US$9.680 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services rose by 1.5 times to US$1.176 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

As UNIAN reported earlier, citing the NBU, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 totaled US$11.492 billion, which was 32.9% up from the deficit posted in 2017.

The State Statistics Service in turn estimated the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 at US$5.826 billion, which was 2.3 times up against the deficit recorded in 2017.
