The revenue of the national budget over the period under review fell by 2.3% or UAH 1.636 billion (US$65.9 million) year-over-year (y-o-y), according to the national budget's performance indicators published on Ukraine's State Treasury Service website.

The national budget in January-October 2019 received UAH 810.743 billion (US$32.7 billion) in revenue, which was 5.5% or UAH 47.174 billion (US$1.9 billion) down from the planned figure, while 8.5% or UAH 63.330 billion (US$2.6 billion) up y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 31, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, passed a bill on amendments to the 2019 national budget under which the planned budget revenue would be reduced by UAH 20 billion, or US$806 million.

According to the explanatory note to the bill, the decrease in the revenue plan, which is related to a shortfall of receipts of value-added tax (VAT) on imported goods and import duties as a result of the above-target strengthening of the hryvnia, will be offset by a reduction in state debt servicing costs.

The draft law has not been enacted yet.

The national budget of Ukraine for 2019 provided for revenues at UAH 1.026 trillion (US$41.3 billion) and expenditures at UAH 1.112 trillion (US$44.8 billion), with the deficit cap of UAH 89.989 billion (US$3.6 billion).
