Ukrainian farmers will get over US$160 mln in state support in 2020

The amount is smaller than the sum allocated in 2019.

Ukrainian farmers will get UAH 4 billion, or about US$161 million, in state support, as is stipulated in the draft national budget for 2020, which was posted on the Verkhovna Rada's website.

In addition, UAH 240 million, or US$9.7 million, has been allocated for the formation of the charter capital of the Partial Credit Guarantee Fund.

The Cabinet of Ministers also plans to allocate UAH 5 million, or about US$201,600, for financial support of events in the agricultural sector.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture previously presented a state support program for agriculture for 2020 with a budget of UAH 8.4 billion, or US$339 million. Of the amount, UAH 3.9 billion, or US$157.3 million, was provided for the compensation of loans for the purchase of land, UAH 500 million, or US$20.16 million, for the Partial Credit Guarantee Fund.

When the draft budget for 2020 was passed in the first reading, it foresaw UAH 4.4 billion, or US$177 million, for the support of farmers.

The 2019 budget stipulates that UAH 5.7 billion, or US$229.8 million, should be allocated for the agricultural sector's support.
