Ukraine's Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Oleksiy Orzhel has announced a date for another round of gas talks with the European Union (EU) and the Russian Federation.

"Another round of technical consultations on signing gas transportation agreements will be held in Brussels on November 8," he wrote on Facebook on November 7.

"During such technical meetings, it is important to develop all possible scenarios. The Ukrainian side is set to work constructively. I hope for the same position of all participants in the process," he said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Brussels on October 28 hosted trilateral negotiations on gas transit via Ukraine as of January 1, 2020. The previous meeting was on September 19.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said after the gas consultations that "Ukraine has not yet formed an official position" on the possibility of resolving the dispute between Gazprom and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine by the end of the year.

His Ukrainian counterpart Orzhel, in turn, emphasized that Ukraine was against the discussion of direct gas supplies and the settlement of arbitration processes between Gazprom and Naftogaz during trilateral negotiations on gas transit.

On November 5, spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that new gas transit arrangements were "virtually impossible" if Ukraine did not give up the enforcement of the Stockholm arbitration award.
