Ukraine exports almost 21 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian farmers have already shipped 12.2 million tonnes of wheat abroad.

Ukrainian agribusinesses exported 20.9 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2019, the start of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY), to November 11, 2019.

In particular, Ukraine exported 12.2 million tonnes of wheat, 3.3 million tonnes of barley, 5.1 million tonnes of maize, and 5,000 tonnes of rye, according to the Ukrainian Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry's press service.

Over the period under review, agrarians also shipped 131,100 tonnes of flour from wheat and other crops to foreign customers, which was 57,000 tonnes up against the relevant period of MY 2018-2019, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian agribusinesses in MY 2018-2019 exported 49.7 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence.

Ukrainian agrarians are expected to harvest 74 million tonnes of grain in 2019, according to the Ukrainian economy ministry's preliminary estimates.

Grain harvest in 2018 was 70.1 million tonnes, which was a record high yield.
