Ukraine's State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service says Ukraine has exported the first batch of frozen beef to China.
"It has been a long way towards opening the Chinese market for Ukrainian beef. Now the first batch of frozen beef has been shipped to China. We hope that the Ukrainian delegation, which is set to visit China soon, will be able to make sure that Ukrainian beef is already on the shelves of Chinese stores," the agency's acting head, Olha Shevchenko, said on November 13, according to the press service.

Earlier, Chinese experts inspected Ukrainian-based enterprises and audited Ukraine's state control system. Following that, an international certificate for frozen beef exports was agreed upon, while a list of Ukrainian companies that had been authorized to supply the produce to China was approved.
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association, China was interested in Ukrainian pork imports. However, the countries must sign a certificate to launch the shipments.
According to Ukraine's trade envoy, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Taras Kachka, the Ukrainian delegation will pay a visit to Beijing on November 26-27, during which several agreements on exports of agricultural products to China are to be signed.
