IMF staff mission arrives in Ukraine

The mission will discuss with the Ukrainian leadership a new three-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

A new mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ukraine's key lender, arrived in Kyiv and started work on November 14, as planned.

The IMF mission has begun its work in Kyiv according to the plan, the IMF Resident Representative Office in Ukraine told UNIAN on Thursday.

Earlier, the IMF announced its mission led by Director of the European Department at the IMF Poul M. Thomsen would arrive in Ukraine on November 14 to discuss with the Ukrainian leadership a new three-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) to replace the existing stand-by program.

UNIAN memo. The IMF's latest staff mission worked in Kyiv on September 12-26. Following its visit, the IMF said the discussion of a new three-year extended fund facility for Ukraine would continue in the coming weeks.

Following talks with a Ukrainian delegation to the United States, Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund Poul M. Thomsen said the Fund's mission would visit Kyiv again in the following weeks to discuss the new EFF program for Ukraine.
