Ukraine's GDP growth slows to 4.2% in Q3 y-o-y – Statistics

The growth of Ukraine's real gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2019 (Q3) slowed to 4.2% year-over-year (y-o-y) against 4.6% recorded in Q2 y-o-y.

Ukraine's real GDP growth was 0.7% in Q3 against Q2, taking into account the seasonal factor, the State Statistics Service said on its website, referring to fresh data.

Information on nominal GDP and that per capita is not available.

Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) estimated the country's real GDP growth in Q1 2019 slightly lower, at 3.5% in annual terms.

The growth of Ukraine's real gross domestic product in 2018 accelerated to 3.3%, a seven-year high, from 2.5% in 2017.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts Ukraine's economic growth in 2019 at 3%, the World Bank at 2.7%, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) at 3.3%.

The National Bank projects 3.5% economic growth in Ukraine this year.

Ukraine's 2019 national budget is based on 3% real GDP growth.
