Ukraine exports almost 23 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian farmers have already shipped 12.8 million tonnes of wheat abroad.

Ukrainian agribusinesses exported 22.68 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2019, the start of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY), to November 20, 2019, which was 6.2 million tonnes up from the relevant period of MY 2018-2019.

In particular, Ukraine exported 12.8 million tonnes of wheat, 3.4 million tonnes of barley, 6.2 million tonnes of maize, and 5,000 tonnes of rye, according to the Ukrainian Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry's press service.

Over the period under review, agrarians also shipped 141,100 tonnes of flour from wheat and other types of grain to foreign customers, which was almost 60,000 tonnes up against the relevant period of MY 2018-2019, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian agribusinesses in MY 2018-2019 exported 49.7 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence.

Ukrainian agrarians are expected to harvest 74 million tonnes of grain in 2019, according to the Ukrainian economy ministry's preliminary estimates.

The yield of grain in 2018 was 70.1 million tonnes, which was a record high yield.
