Total value of Ukraine's 100 most expensive brands estimated at US$6.2 bln in 2019 – NV

The pharmaceuticals industry leads the top five sectors in terms of growth of their brands' value.

Ukraine's Novoye Vremya (NV) weekly has released its annual rating of the country's 100 most expensive brands.

The top three are the Morshynska natural table water brand (US$550 million, a 3.2% up from 2018), the Nova Poshta courier service (US$310 million, 8.8% up), and the Rozetka online retail service (US$302 million, 23.8% up), according to NV No. 43 dated November 21, 2019.

They are followed by PrivatBank (US$299 million, 26.2% up), the Roshen confectionery producer (US$276 million, 34% up), and the Sandora juice producer (US$252 million, 9.1% up).

The authors of the rating note that the total value of all 100 brands in 2019 increased by 4.7%, to US$6.2 billion.

The pharmaceuticals industry in 2019 leads the top five sectors in terms of growth of their brands' value by a significant margin. For pharmaceuticals brands, the growth rate was 203%, while the closest sectors in the rating, financial services and the dairy industry, grew by 33% and 26%, respectively. The most expensive brand in the pharmaceuticals industry is Darnitsa.

According to NV, the value of each brand was estimated by MPP Consulting. The evaluation methodology is based on the financial results of brand owners. Other factors were also taken into account, among them are geographic coverage of sales, technological component, manufactured products and investment attractiveness of a particular sector.
