Ukraine's No. 1 bank posts almost US$1.16 bln in profit in 10 months

It was twice the profit posted in the 12 months of 2018.

State-owned PrivatBank's, Ukraine's No. 1 bank, posted almost UAH 28 billion, or US$1.16 billion, in profit in January-October 2019, which was twice higher than in the 12 months of 2018.

This was reported by the bank's press service with reference to CFO Hanna Samarina.

The press service told UNIAN that Samarina was acting governor of the bank instead of CEO Petr Krumphanzl.

The latter was reportedly hospitalized after a heart attack.

PrivatBank's press service said such reports did not correspond to reality, as the bank's governor had been provided with medical care, and now his condition is not a matter of concern.

UNIAN memo. PrivatBank (Dnipro) has been operating on the Ukrainian market since 1992 and is the largest bank in terms of assets. The bank has been in state ownership since December 2016. In January 2018, PrivatBank's Supervisory Board appointed Petr Krumphanzl as CEO, and the appointment was authorized by the National Bank of Ukraine in February.
