The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMC) has launched an investigation into violations of Ukraine’s antimonopoly legislation by the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom, the acting head of the Committee Mykola Barash said during a press conference on Wednesday.
"An order of the Cabinet of Ministers was submitted last week. We’ve started an investigation," he said.
As reported earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk asked the AMC to initiate an investigation into Gazprom.
According to Yatseniuk, the actions of the Russian company were damaging Ukrainian economy, as Gazprom was acting according to discriminatory and almost non-competitive conditions.
