"The most important thing: People should get utility bills for December with reduced [tariffs]," he said in his video posted on Facebook on Saturday, November 30.

The head of state added people need to know that the tariffs "will not be higher, but will be lower."

In turn, Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk noted the need to adopt an appropriate law to reduce the tariffs.

"We have a very short bill, which can be introduced by the president as urgent, and the adoption of this law will lead to the fact that our tariff for households will decrease," he said.

If the bill is passed, heating tariffs for Ukrainians may drop by UAH 80 – UAH 130 (US$3.33 – US$5.41), he added.

According to the prime minister, consumers have already been protected from rising tariffs this winter.
