"The Cabinet of Ministers has extended duties on Russian goods for a year, until December 31, 2020, in response to similar actions by the Russian Federation," he wrote on Facebook, following a government meeting on December 4.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 15, 2019, the Cabinet adopted Resolution No. 535 to impose retaliatory sanctions on Russian goods, which expanded the list of goods prohibited from being imported into the customs territory of Ukraine from Russia. In particular, this refers to such commodity groups as industrial goods, mineral fertilizers, agricultural products, and vehicles. In addition, it is prohibited to import rail cars from March 1, 2020. The Cabinet, at its meeting on November 6, postponed the date of entry into force of the said resolution from March 1, 2020 to November 20, 2019.

Ukraine's trade in goods with Russia in the first quarter of 2019 shrank by 8% year-over-year, to US$2.34 billion.
