Ukraine must fulfill all points of the new cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund, and that is why negotiations have been ongoing for so long, Finance Minister Oksana Markarova said during a government Q&A hour in the Verkhovna Rada.

"A new three-year arrangement can't be discussed within a week ... because we're talking about the program that we plan to implement, the one that's in our plans, with realistic deadlines," said Markarova.

According to the minister, this time the government must fully implement the cooperation program, unlike in the previous periods.

"This time we must not just start implementing the new program and then stop doing so, as many times was the case, or start implementing it and then turn it down. We must fulfill it, exit it, and have the economy in such a state that we don't need the IMF," she added.

The negotiations regarding the new program are still ongoing.
