Ukraine exports almost 26 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian farmers have already shipped almost 13.7 million tonnes of wheat abroad.

Ukrainian agribusinesses exported 25.82 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2019, the start of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY), to December 5, 2019, which was 6.6 million tonnes up from the relevant period of MY 2018-2019.

In particular, Ukraine exported 13.7 million tonnes of wheat, 3.5 million tonnes of barley, 8.3 million tonnes of maize, and 5,000 tonnes of rye, according to the Ukrainian Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry's press service.

Over the period under review, agrarians also shipped 160,600 tonnes of flour from wheat and other types of grain to foreign customers, which was almost 60,600 tonnes up against the relevant period of MY 2018-2019, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian agribusinesses in MY 2018-2019 exported 49.7 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence.

According to Ukraine's Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry, Ukrainian agrarians harvested a record high yield of grain, having gathered 74.3 million tonnes as of November 28. It exceeded the ministry's forecast for 2019 by 0.3 million tonnes.

The yield of grain in 2018 was 70.1 million tonnes, which was a record high yield.
