Ukraine and the IMF have agreed on a new three-year US$5.5 billion cooperation program.
Ukrainian Finance Minister Oksana Markarova says that an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will let Ukraine get EUR 500 million in macro-financial assistance from the European Union on favorable terms in the coming months.
"Reaching an agreement with the IMF opens the way [for Ukraine] to receive EUR 500 million in macro-financial assistance from the EU on very favorable terms in the coming months," Markarova said on Facebook on December 8.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine and the IMF reached a staff level agreement on a new three-year cooperation program worth US$5.5 billion.
On December 7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva had a phone call to discuss the terms of the new program.
