The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Friday evening set the official forex rate at UAH 23.72 to the dollar, which made the country's national currency stronger by 16 kopiykas.
The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for December 9:
US$100 costs UAH 2,372.4789 (UAH 2,387.7034 as of December 6);
EUR 100 costs UAH 2,632.0281 (UAH 2,648.9182 as of December 9).
Thus, the National Bank set the official forex rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar at the maximum indicator since January 2016, or almost in four years.

The previous four-year maximum was set at UAH 23.88 per U.S. dollar on December 6, according to the NBU website.
Ukraine's national currency in November 2019 strengthened by 3.4% against the U.S. dollar. The hryvnia has also strengthened by 13.4% since the beginning of the year, to UAH 23.97 per U.S. dollar.
